Mina deelt haar ervaring met acne en rosacea

Mina shares her experience with acne and rosacea

Meet Mina, who has been struggling with skin infections and conditions since 2018. Her skin started to flare up after she started taking birth control pills. "Before then, I had no problems and my skin was fine," she says.

For the past four years, she's also struggled with redness, which she always assumed was related to her acne. However, she went to a dermatologist, who told her she also had rosacea.

"I've seen 11 doctors in total for my acne, but only the last one made me feel truly heard, and this was the only consultation that lasted an hour. She really listened to my problems and was the first to diagnose me with rosacea."

"And that rosacea diagnosis changed everything," says Mina. She's now working hard to figure out how to not only manage her acne but also how to prevent rosacea flare-ups. "I already suspected I had rosacea, and an esthetician had even pointed it out to me at the end of 2021, but I didn't get an official diagnosis from a dermatologist until the beginning of this year (2022)."

Initially, her dermatologists recommended prescription skin products, but Mina soon noticed that her skin reacted severely if she didn't use them for a while. Instead, she now takes medication for her acne and keeps her skin hydrated. She also continues to explore solutions for her rosacea.

Her skincare routine consists of gentle, hydrating products and Gladskin Rosacea Gel. A friend recommended Gladskin to her, who gave her the Acne Gel as a gift in 2020. Since then, she's switched to the Rosacea Gel, which addresses her redness. When asked what other treatments she's tried, she lists everything from BHA/AHA peels and retinol serums to facials and more. Unfortunately, nothing worked, or she only saw minimal results.

Managing her rosacea is a real challenge. She's found that it's better to eliminate harsh skincare ingredients altogether (something we've discussed on Instagram before) and that avoiding histamines in foods also helps. She also notices that her skin flares up when it's hot outside, when she exercises, and when she eats spicy food. Identifying and then avoiding triggers is an ongoing challenge.

Mina is thrilled to have found Gladskin for her rosacea. She said her colleague could clearly see the effects of Gladskin's Rosacea Gel on her own skin. "I was truly amazed," she said. Since trying it herself, she's been very satisfied.
